Building on the success of their best-selling and category-defining cold pressed rapeseed oil, Borderfields asked us to create packaging for their new range of delicious granola breakfast cereals. Inspired by the success of their number one-selling oil, we set to work creating an appealing range of appropriate designs that would enable Borderfields’ latest product to compete in a highly competitive market sector.

Bursting with flavour

The key difference to competitor’s granola cereal was Borderfields’ use of healthy and wholesome rapeseed oil in their product. To bring this difference to life we worked with leading food and drink illustrator Georgina Luck to create a stunning and completely ownable visual language. The result emphasised the product’s natural flavour and great ingredients in a really approachable, relaxed way.

Just the right type

Continuing the approach we introduced for the Borderfields master brand, we then created a distinctive letterpress typographical style to add even more visual charm. At the same time we evolved a personable tone of voice for the pack copy, so that words and images worked perfectly together to emphasise the cereal’s unique qualities.

Bring all the ingredients together

The final designs integrated all the elements we’d created and introduced relaxed-sounding product descriptions complete with hand drawn arrows drawing the customer’s attention to particular product features such as the specific ingredient mix in each pack and the use of golden cold-pressed rapeseed oil.

The result captures Borderfields’ point of difference thanks to a look and feel that effortlessly harmonises with the main Borderfields brand yet still has its own distinct – and distinctly fruity – identity.
